Icreon has always stood for a deep understanding
of the technologies it works with. The company has regularly invested
in understanding and using cutting edge technologies that it sees
as relevant to building cost effective solutions for its clients.
Its research groups focus on assimilating technology, creating frameworks
and processes that help design and build highly scaleable and performance
driven applications for the Internet.
The current focus area includes but is not limited to .NET
Technologies, XML, Java Technologies, Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.
We optimally utilize technology as the perfect means to an end.
Our primary emphasis lies in the utilization of the .NET framework
to achieve software development objectives. If the project involves
the development of a web-enabled business solution or perhaps, an
e-Commerce storefront, our recommendation and inclination is to primarily
utilize ASP.NET. If the project is not web-enabled, we would be inclined
to utilize VB.NET or C# to achieve objectives. Our inclination to
employ the .NET framework stems from the great benefits that the .NET
framework has to offer in terms of platform independence, interoperability
and scalability.
Recommending the technology for a solution requires and in-depth understanding
of the benefits of any and all technologies that we cover. Although
sometimes, the choices are more limited. However, weve deployed
some interesting solutions across all platforms. Here are a few examples:
 |
A comprehensive web-enabled
Groupware solution (VCrew), for a client in Japan, has been
developed on PHP/MySQL. |
 |
A process intensive travel
facilitating B2B and B2C hybrid portal called
Travel Manager
is developed on ASP.NET/SQL Server |
 |
A non web-enabled
customized software development project
Anthurium
Exports, has
been developed on Visual Basic/SQL Server |
At times, it also happens that technology usage is dictated by the
very nature of the requirement. For example, upgrading existing projects
that have been developed on a particular platform requires further
software development being performed on the same platform. Or it may
be that the software solution is required to integrate with other
software solutions in place, say, accounting software. In such cases,
it may not be possible to deploy the hottest technology
in existence; perhaps it does not facilitate integration. Alternatively,
the usage of technology may also be guided by our clients themselves
perhaps because the existing hardware structure in place is
ideal only for particular set of technologies.
